Graduation FriendshipWe’re graduating, and we know Our lives will be different and new; We’re going out into the world, Our goals and dreams to pursue. But one thing will never, ever change, As we go our separate ways; The friends we’ve made in school will be Our friends for all our days. The special ties and attachments we’ve made, These bonds will never be broken; We’ll continue to feel that special bond, Though words may not be spoken. So it’s not "goodbye," but rather "farewell;" I’ll see you again, my friend. You've Done Your JobNow it's time to graduate You did well, and that is great You've done your job, and we're so proud, We want to dance and shout out loud!By Karl FuchsGraduation SongsPlease remember, the lyrics to the graduation songs below are copyrighted, so use our Contact Form to ask permission before you use it.It’s amazing how many people are searching for graduation songs. Graduation poems set to music become graduation day songs, so I’ve set this graduation poem to the lovely and easy-to-sing melody of "Morning Has Broken" to make it into a graduation song with lyric. "Morning Has Broken," an old hymn you can find in most Protestant hymn books (along with "God Of The Ages," which is set to the same melody), was made into a huge pop hit by Cat Stevens. The melody, which is a traditional Gaelic melody, is in the public domain, BUT, the arrangements of it, that is, the harmony parts and accompaniment, are often copyrighted. If you can’t find an arrangement that isn’t copyrighted, your music department can create an arrangement, or you can seek permission to use a copyrighted arrangement you find. This is suitable for a high school graduation song. It's graduation music everyone can enjoy. Graduation SongWe’re graduating Into our future, Anticipating Only the best. Spreading our wings now, We’ll do great things now, Meet every challenge, Pass every test. We’ll overcome what- ever life hands us, Use what we learned here For our success. We’ll bloom wherever Our journey lands us, Reaching our goal of Sweet happiness.Friendships unbroken Are what we made here; Though words aren’t spoken, Feelings are strong. Memories we treasure Tie us together, Recalling pleasure All our lives long. We’re thankful for our Good education; Our school and teachers Are second to none. We'd like to give them Appreciation; We learned a lot, and We thank everyone.By Joanna FuchsThere is much, much more demand for graduation songs than there is for graduation poems. But what is a graduation song but graduation poetry set to music? So I wrote a rhyming graduation verse and turned it into this graduation song with lyric appropriate for high school or college. The melody is a traditional American melody in the public domain. A famous hymn lyric was set to this melody, so you can find the music in any Protestant hymnal. Look for the title, "Come Thou Fount Of Every Blessing."” We Are Graduating NowWe are graduating now, and Things are coming to an end. We appreciate our teachers, And we’ll never lose a friend. We will remember what we learned here; We will remember everything. And when we are gone from this place, To our memories we’ll cling.Education is the best thing That we ever will possess. We will use what our school taught us To achieve our own success. We are connected to our friends and school; We are connected to it all. When we think about our school days, Only good things we’ll recall. So goodbye now to our school days, To the children we once were. All the things we thought and did here Will become a pleasant blur. We say hello now to our future; We say hello to what will be. We all have what we all need; our Education sets us free.By Joanna FuchsAnd here’s a graduation poem made into a graduation song for preschoolers to the lower elementary grades. It’s set the melody of the song "The Farmer in the Dell." Where it says, "insert grade," put "kinder" (for kindergarten) or "first grade" or whatever applies. Graduation Song for Young ChildrenWe’re graduating now; We’re graduating now; We’re going to a (insert grade) class; We’re graduating now. We’ll learn some new things there; We’ll learn some new things there; We’re going to have a lot of fun; We’ll learn some new things there. We’ll meet and make good friends; We’ll meet and make good friends; We’ll like them, and they’ll like us, too; We’ll meet and make good friends; Our teacher will be nice; Our teacher will be nice. She’ll teach us what we need to know; Our teacher will be nice. We’re graduating now; We’re graduating now; We’re going to a (insert grade) class; We’re graduating now.By Joanna FuchsGraduation PrayerThere are thousands of searches for graduation prayers, so I wrote this graduation prayer in the form of a free verse inspirational graduation poem. Dear Lord, Please bless these graduates as they go out into the world to make it a better place, while they pursue their dreams. Gently guide them, lead them, show them Your way to success and happiness through service to others, as they maximize their own potential. Fill them with joy when they reach their goals. Strengthen them, as they deal with life's obstacles, and show them that every challenge is a path to character development. Give them the intelligence to make a plan for their futures. Give them the patience and persistence to pursue their ambitions. Most of all, give them caring hearts to look for ways to help the people they meet on their life's journey. Encourage them and lift them up now, as they spread their wings into a clear sky of limitless opportunity. Let each and every graduate here be wrapped in the warmth of Your infinite love, and let Your wisdom show them the way to make the most of their lives. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.By Joanna Fuchs Note: We also have a religious graduation poem for Christians.
