Poemsource.com recently added a new group of original Valentine poems and greetings for paper cards, e-cards, and other applications. The collection includes general purpose Valentine poems, family, friend, funny, kid, love, and Christian Valentine poetry and verse.

(PRWEB) January 16, 2007 - See new, original Valentine's Day poems at Poemsource.com (www.poemsource.com), including general purpose Valentine poems, friend, funny, kid, love, and Christian Valentine poetry. In addition, the family Valentine poem category now includes Valentine verse for husband, wife, daughter, son, mother, father, parents, sister, and grandparents. These greeting card poems are copyrighted, but are free for use on personal greeting cards, as detailed in the "Terms of Use" at the site.

Poemsource.com poetry writer Joanna Fuchs says she's been writing greeting card poems since she was a little kid. "When I was about eight years old, I made greeting cards for my family and wrote my own rhymes for them," she says, and I'm still doing it. The site is about two years old, and I just keep writing more and more poems for it.

"It's hard to find rhyming poems anymore," she adds. "Everything is free verse. People have a strong feeling of nostalgia for the traditional rhyming poems. They strike a chord. And Valentine greetings are very popular. Last year over a million people searched for 'Valentine poems' or 'Valentine's Day poems' or 'Valentine poetry' and that doesn't count more specific searches, like 'Valentine love poem.' 'mother Valentine poem,' etc.

"The poems at poemsource.com are not the esoteric contemporary verse that is widespread today," she continues, "but rather old-fashioned, sentimental, touch-the-heart, greeting card poems for anyone and everyone to use on their personal cards."

Although most of the Valentine poetry at poemsource.com is in rhyme, there are some poems in accessible, easy-to-understand free verse, for those who prefer them.

In addition to Valentine poems, the site includes anniversary, baby, birthday, Christmas, father, friendship, funny, get well, graduation, love, mother, New Year's, patriotic, sympathy, teacher, Thanksgiving, thank you, wedding and a variety of other greeting card poems.

Here are some samples of the new 2007 Valentine poems:

From the general purpose "Valentine Poems" page:

Essential Valentine

On Valentine's Day we think about
Those matchless people who
Give extra meaning to our lives--
The very special few.

Without them, skies would turn to gray;
Things wouldn't be the same;
Life wouldn't be as colorful;
It would be a duller game.

And when I contemplate that group,
Friends and family who are mine,
I appreciate and treasure you;
You're essential, Valentine!

By Joanna Fuchs

From the "Valentine Love Poems" page:

A Joy I Never Knew

Have I told you, Valentine,
That I'm all wrapped up in you?
My feelings for you bring to me
A joy I never knew.

You light up everything for me;
In my heart you shine;
Illuminating my whole life,
My darling Valentine.

By Joanna Fuchs

From the "Family Valentine Poems" page:

Valentine's Day Poem For Grandparents

Grandma and Grandpa, you're my Valentine;
You make a difference in my life each day;
Because I have your unconditional love,
You've given me a gift I can't repay.

If I could make the world a better place,
If there were just one thing that I could do,
To make each person happy and at peace,
I'd give them all grandparents just like you!

Save Room

As meals go, Thanksgiving dinner
Is always a feast--a five star winner.
Here comes the salad, dressed just right,
The golden brown turkey--a savory delight;

The stuffing now, and then the gravy,
The jello mold, all wiggly and wavy.
Take some cranberry sauce and candied yams;
Is there room for fresh made rolls and jams?

More dishes tempt me; ah, but I
Must save some room for pumpkin pie!

By Joanna Fuchs

There is a Christmas poem for a teacher, a Christmas love poem, and even a Christmas poem written especially for people who celebrate Christmas in a warm climate. Year-Round Joy

Christmas is full of shiny things
That sparkle, gleam and glow;
These holiday pleasures dazzle us,
And yet, deep down, we know...

That Christmas has its special gifts,
But our year-round joy depends
On the cherished people in our lives,
Our family and our friends.

Happy New Year Wish

My Happy New Year wish for you
Is for your best year yet,
A year where life is peaceful,
And what you want, you get.

A year in which you cherish
The past year’s memories,
And live your life each new day
Full of bright expectancies.

I wish for you a holiday
With happiness galore;
And when it’s done, I wish you
Happy New Year, and many more.

There is also a Veterans Day prayer at www.poemsource.com/patriotic-poems.html plus an I Miss You poem for those with loved ones in the military, and other general purpose patriotic poems.

"Lots of people are searching for these kinds of patriotic poems, especially Veterans Day poems that honor our men and women in the military," says poemsource.com poet Joanna Fuchs.

As with all poemsource.com pages, most the the poems on the patriotic page are rhyming poems. "People are looking for traditional rhyming poems, which are hard to find anymore," says Fuchs, "but they still want poems in that classic form, and they search for them. The rhythm and rhyme give people a unique, natural pleasure," she says.

Fuchs says she’s been writing poems since she was a little kid. "When I was about eight years old, I made greeting cards for my family and wrote my own rhymes for them," she says, and I'm still doing it. The site is almost two years old, and I just keep writing more and more poems for it."

The poems are free for personal use, according to the Terms of Use at the site, located at www.poemsource.com/terms-of-use.html.

Here's a sample Veterans Day poem from the patriotic poems page at www.poemsource.com:

They Did Their Share

On Veteran’s Day we honor
Soldiers who protect our nation.
For their service as our warriors,
They deserve our admiration.

Some of them were drafted;
Some were volunteers;
For some it was just yesterday;
For some it’s been many years;

In the jungle or the desert,
On land or on the sea,
They did whatever was assigned
To produce a victory.

Some came back; some didn’t.
They defended us everywhere.
Some saw combat; some rode a desk;
All of them did their share.

No matter what the duty,
For low pay and little glory,
These soldiers gave up normal lives,
For duties mundane and gory.

Let every veteran be honored;
Don’t let politics get in the way.
Without them, freedom would have died;
What they did, we can’t repay.

We owe so much to them,
Who kept us safe from terror,
So when we see a uniform,
Let’s say "thank you" to every wearer.

(PRWEB) April 26, 2006 -- New, original graduation poems recently posted at www.poemsource.com celebrate the graduate's accomplishment with appreciation and approval in the form of rhyming greeting card poems.

"People who know students graduating want to commemorate the event, often with a gift, but a poem says much more," says poemsource.com greeting card poet Joanna Fuchs. "The messages in these poems are designed to encourage, inspire and celebrate the graduate."

As with all poemsource.com pages, most of the the poems on the graduation page are rhyming poems. "The rhythmic, melodic qualities of metered rhyming poems touch something instinctively pleasurable within us," says Fuchs, "and they are returning to popularity."

Fuchs says she’s been writing greeting card poems since she was a little kid. "When I was about eight years old, I made greeting cards for my family and wrote my own rhymes for them," she says, "and I'm still doing it. The site is about 18 months old, and I just keep writing more and more poems for it."

Here's a sample graduation poem:

If You Believe

Your diploma means a future without boundaries,
A world that's full of energy and fun.
So as you reach for all life has to offer,
Remember that you're second to no one.

Pursue your goals, yet keep your loved ones close,
As you utilize your talent and ambition.
Let your friends and family give you their support,
And you'll master every challenging transition.

And always, (graduate's name), know you can achieve
The things you really want, if you believe.

Poemsource.com Introduces New Greeting Card Poems for Mother's Day and Father's Day

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

Poemsource.com recently added to its free online greeting card poem offerings to include new, original Mother's Day and Father's Day poems for cards, e-cards, and other applications.

(PRWEB) April 20, 2006 -- Poemsource.com recently added to its online greeting card poem offerings to include new, original Mother's Day and Father's Day poems for cards, e-cards, and other applications.

Greeting card poet Joanna Fuchs says the poems are designed to be sentimental and to touch the hearts of Mom and Dad.

"Sometimes it's hard to express loving feelings in words, even those to whom we are closest," she says. "These poems get the desired message across in an easy, comfortable way."

As with all the poemsource.com pages, most of these Mother's Day and Father's Day poems are rhyming poems, with a recognizable rhythm or "meter." "Poets and poetry critics like free verse," says Fuchs, "but consumers are clamoring for old-fashioned rhyming poems."

Fuchs says she’s been writing rhyming greeting card poems for decades. "When I was about eight years old, I started writing little jingles for the homemade cards I gave to my relatives," she says, "and I’ve been doing it ever since. I put up the site about 18 months ago, and I just keep adding poems to it."

Here's a sample Mother's Day poem:

Nobody's Like You, Mom

Nobody's quite like you, Mom.
You're special in every way.
You cheer me up, you fill my cup
With tenderness, come what may.

Nobody loves me like you, Mom.
No matter what I do,
Good or bad, happy or sad,
You support me; You always come through.

Nobody's equal to you, Mom.
With you in my life, I'm blessed.
I love you so, and I want you to know
I think you're the very best!

And here's a Father's Day poem:

Everything Dad

A little girl needs her daddy
To love her with manly charm,
To soothe her when she’s hurt,
And keep her safe from harm.

A girl needs her dad
To show her a man who’s good,
To help her make right choices,
As only a father could.

A woman needs her father
Just to be aware,
He’ll always be there for her
To sustain her and to care.

You’ve been all these things, Dad.
I hope that you can see
How much I treasure you;
You mean everything to me.

Poemsource.com Releases New, Original Teacher Poems for Teacher Appreciation Week and National Teacher Day

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

Poemsource.com recently expanded its free online greeting card poem collection to include a new group of original teacher poems for paper cards, e-cards, and other applications for Teacher Appreciation Week, May 8-12, and National Teacher Day on May 9.

(PRWEB) April 13, 2006 -- New, original teacher poems recently posted at poemsource.com include elementary school, high school and college teacher poems. These "Thank You Teacher" poems are designed for National Teacher Appreciation Week, and they are also appropriate for end-of-the-school-year "Goodbye Teacher" messages.

"Kids want to express their affection and appreciation for their favorite teachers at the end of the year," says poemsource.com greeting card poet Joanna Fuchs, "and these poems are written with that need in mind."

As with all poemsource.com pages, most the the poems on the teacher page are rhyming poems, although there are a few in free verse, for those who prefer them. The poems are free for personal use, according to the Terms of Use at the site.

"People are looking for traditional rhyming poems, which are hard to find anymore," says Fuchs, "but they still want poems in that classic form, and they search for them. The rhythm and rhyme give people a unique, natural pleasure," she says, "and they are easy to memorize. You can probably still remember, word for word, some of the rhyming poems you read as a child."

Fuchs says she's been writing greeting card poems since she was a little kid. "When I was about eight years old, I made greeting cards for my family and wrote my own rhymes for them," she says, and I'm still doing it. The site is about 18 months old, and I just keep writing more and more poems for it."

The following free teacher poem from poemsource.com was written with high school and college level teachers in mind:

Sonnet For An Unforgettable Teacher

When I began your class I think I knew
The kind of challenges you'd make me face.
You gave me motivation to pursue
The best, and to reject the commonplace.

Your thinking really opened up my mind.
With wisdom, style and grace, you made me see,
That what I'd choose to seek, I'd surely find;
You shook me out of my complacency.

I thank you now for everything you've done;
What you have taught me I will not outgrow.
Your kind attention touched my mind and heart;
In many ways that you will never know.

I will remember you my whole life through;
I wish that all my teachers were like you.

This next poem was written for younger students to give to their teachers:

The Teacher Gets A+

I look forward to your class
When I come to school.
You're an awesome teacher;
I think you're very cool.

You're smart and fair and friendly;
You're helping all of us.
And if I got to grade you,
From me you'd get A+!

In addition to teacher poems, the site includes anniversary, birthday, baby, friendship, graduation, Mother's Day, Father's Day, get well, Christmas, New Year, Valentine and wedding poems.

Poemsource.com Expands Valentine Poem Offerings to Meet Valentine's Day Demand

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

Poemsource.com recently added to its online greeting card poem collection to include a new group of original Valentine poems for paper cards, e-cards, and other applications.

(PRWEB) January 18, 2006 -- New, original Valentine's Day poems recently posted at www.poemsource.com include Valentine love poems, and Valentine friend, teacher, and family poems. In addition, a separate page has been added for the frequently searched for category, "funny Valentine poems," which includes the popular rhyming Valentine story poem, "Since My Valentine Got A Computer." The funny Valentine page also has "Valentine Zoo," "Valentine Superhero," and "Valentine, You're Food for My Soul, which includes the lines, "The thought of your lips makes my mouth start to water, 'Cause they remind me of barbecue more than they oughter."

Another page has been added just for kid Valentine poems. Remember the short rhyming poems that came on our Valentines when we were kids -- poems like "Roses are red, violets are blue...? They're baaaack! Greeting card poet Joanna Fuchs says kid Valentine poems are one of the most popular categories, but they're hard to find. "I've written a bunch of four-line rhyming poems for kids -- for their friends and family -- some on the main Valentine page, and a lot more on the kid Valentine poem page," she says.

"It's hard to find rhyming poems anymore," she adds. "Everything is free verse. People have a strong feeling of nostalgia for the traditional rhyming poems. They strike a chord. And Valentine greetings are so popular. Last year over a million people searched 'Valentine poems' or 'Valentine Day poems' or 'Valentine poetry' and that doesn't count more specific searches, like 'Valentine love poem.' 'mother Valentine poem,' etc."

Fuchs says she’s been writing greeting card poems since she was a little kid. "When I was about eight years old, I made greeting cards for my family and wrote my own rhymes for them," she says, and I'm still doing it. The site is about a year old, and I just keep writing more and more poems for it."

In addition to Valentine poems, the site includes anniversary, birthday, baby, friendship, graduation, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, teacher, and wedding poems, love poems, Christmas and New Year poems.

Poemsource.com Expands as Demand for Online Greeting Card Poems Increases

Download this press release as an Adobe PDF document.

Poemsource.com recently expanded its online greeting card poem offerings to include new, original Christmas, New Year’s and Valentine poems for cards, e-cards, and other applications.

(PRWEB) December 6, 2005 -- Poemsource.com recently expanded its online greeting card poem offerings to include new, original holiday poems for Christmas, New Year’s and Valentine’s Day. According to poemsource.com, old fashioned rhyming poems -- which are increasingly difficult to find in card stores -- are making a strong comeback online this year for use on paper cards and e-cards. With tens to hundreds of thousands of people each month searching for such poems on the Internet, poemsource.com is seeing the expected seasonal interest in their Christmas poems and New Year’s poems, and is also noticing interest in Valentine poems.

Greeting card poet Joanna Fuchs says the poems are designed to be sentimental and to touch the heart. “I try to help people say in a poem what they find difficult to say out loud,” she says. “I started with the popular categories currently at the site, but I have many more greeting card poem categories in mind, such as ‘thank you,’ and ‘sympathy’ poems.”

“Not many people are writing rhyming verse,” she adds. “People love it, but it’s out of favor with most poets, and I think it’s harder to write than free verse. Most of the poems at poemsource.com have a rhyme scheme, but I also added several free verse poems for those who prefer a contemporary format.”

Fuchs says she’s been writing greeting card poems for decades. “When I was about eight years old, I started writing little jingles for the homemade cards I gave to my relatives,” she says, “and I’ve been doing it ever since. I put up the site about a year ago, and I just keep adding poems to it.”

In addition to Christmas poems, New Year’s poems and Valentine poems, there are anniversary, birthday, baby, friendship, graduation, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, teacher, and wedding poems, love poems, Christian poems and even a Fourth of July poem.

“I wrote the Fourth of July poem, ‘Free In The USA,’ for the U.S. bicentennial in 1976, and it’s one of my favorites, so I put it on the site in the ‘More Poems’ section,” Fuchs says. “Eventually I’ll have a whole category for patriotic and military poems for the related holidays, like Veteran’s Day, Memorial Day and Flag Day.”

For Christmas card or e-card poems and New Year’s card, toast, or party invitation poems go to: http://www.poemsource.com.
