My Father's Hands

by Arnold Hoyer Rich lll
(Sarasota, Florida)

This simple Christian message contains feelings common to all believers.

I place my life in my father's hands;
I'm humbled in prayer; He understands.

Blessed by Christ, through the blood of the lamb,
I am able to confess, I am only a man.

Far from perfection, yet striving to be,
In the hands of Jesus, I set myself free.

The Cross

by Connie K Cameron
(Anaheim, Ca)

This Christian message and rhyming poem shows a strong and deep faith and connection to Jesus Christ.

When I get down on my knees,
And I'm praying desperately,
And I'm calling out to You,
Jesus talk to me please.

You know, I am sad now and then.
And sometimes I want to fold.
But it's with your strong right hand.
That You alone uphold.

I see Your arms all outstretched;
I see Your hands as they bleed;
Your eyes look up to the sky;
The Father's words You hear and heed.

You take a sip and it is done,
Pierced by a soldier's hand,
A sign that quips that You are God,
The woman that can't bear to stand.

Not forsaken though it seems so,
God's plan is simply right.
He knows just what He has done;
The enemy has lost the fight.

Here I stand, give You my life.
Your words are there to remind.
I hold You close to my heart,
Your death, the cross, the tie that binds.

by Chantelle

Well, this Christian message sums it up, short and sweet.

Jesus is good,
Jesus is right,

all day and night.
So I won't run;

Hope

by Susanna Leah Murray Johnson
(USA)

The joy in my eyes had been dimmed by my tears,
By betrayal and agony throughout the years.

I boxed myself up and and hid in the dark
to soothe my poor soul, try to bring back a spark.

I waited for God to find me again;
In the depths of my soul I fought the power of sin.

God never let go; He held me so tight,
And said to me, "Child give up the fight.

"I died on the cross cause I knew you could not
The pain is too strong and the burning so hot.

"Come home and accept who you are in Me,
And though you aren't perfect someday you will be.

"Remember the love I have for you true;
Always remember I won't forget you.

"Then go out again and show all my love
To those who don't know that it comes from above.

"For a while, I know, you had lost your way
In the midst of much evil day after day.

"But just as sunshine comes after rain,
You will once again smile through all the pain.

"I bless you, dear child, My hand reaches deep,
And though your foot slipped, I comfort my sheep.

"For I am your shepherd; none other you'll hear,
Even from pit of great losses and fear.

"I have held you tight when you were not strong,
And I'll give you again a heart full of song."

So I thought on the things said from my Lord,
Then put on my armor and sheathed my great sword.

God knew all along I was tired, beat up and worn.
I despaired of my life; my life was forlorn.

God knew I would fail, would fall on my face,
And more often than once He has shown me much grace.

So no more will I fight through this fight alone,
For the Lord is my strength. I bow at His throne.

Glory and Adoration
to the Lord

by Ron Ferguson
(Australia)

In heaven from earth, His full matchless worth,
We'll sing when our race is run.
The children of grace will see His dear face
More glorious than the sun.
Our constant story - to Him be glory;
Will be of victory won.
May You be adored, blessed risen Lord,
For You are the worthy One.

He came from His throne, our sins to atone,
Though mostly by man denied.
He suffered sins' pains to remove our stains;
By man He was crucified.
To us he gives peace which will never cease;
His love for us will abide.
Your honour we raise; Your name, Lord, we praise.
Your mercy is heaven-wide.

There'll be no shed tear, nor reason to fear,
Nor sin from which to repent.
The Lamb's wife, the Bride, all holy inside;
No wrinkle, or spot, or rent.
The Lord is the Light so there'll be no night;
His glory will not be spent.
Your grace, when we meet, and sit at Your feet,
Evil cannot circumvent.

The devil may scheme, and line up his team
In his attempts to assail.
The Lord knows what's best; in that I can rest.
His presence – it will not fail.
This world will decline, but we will be fine,
For we journey on God's trail.
If peril arrives, we know that our lives
Are protected in the gale.

Our Saviour we love, our dear Lord above;
To Him our whole lives we bring.
He is our delight, the joy of our sight;
With gladness, our hearts they ring.
It won't be long now; before Him we'll bow,
And His praises we will sing.
Our joy overflows; the praise to Him grows!
Majesty unto the King.

Christian Poems by Bettina

by Bettina Van Vaerenbergh
(Belgium)

I have a policy of only one poem per author. I am making an exception here. All three of the following poems are by Bettina Van Vaerenbergh. I am advising Bettina to start her own page, considering her abundant talent. I rarely get poems that have correct meter, grammar, capitalization and punctuation, and good content. Enjoy. If she starts her own page, I will take these down. With my policy, I cannot publish any more of hers.

Come to God in Prayer

Come to God in prayer.
Come, don’t be afraid.
You can tell Him anything;
No need to be ashamed.

For all your cares and worries,
He has a listening ear.
Just tell Him how you’re doing;
He really wants to hear.

Your prayers may be simple,
They need not be that long.
As long as they are heartfelt,
There’s no right or wrong.

And if you have no words,
Well, that’s okay too.
Just be still and listen;
And God will talk to you!

Come Home

Inspired by Luke 15:11-32

If you feel a void
Nothing can fill,
If you feel a hunger
Nothing can still,

If you’re feeling down
And all confused,
If you need shelter,
If you need refuge,

If you’re truly done
With your life of sin,
If you long for change,
And it aches within,

If you long for home,
And no longer want to stray,
Just call on Jesus-
Because He is the Way.

He will forgive you
And clothe you in white.
He will dry your tears,
He will give you Life.

He will give you His Spirit,
And His righteousness.
He’ll surround you with love
And tenderness.

You can trust in Him;
He’ll take care of you.
Every trouble and hardship,
He’ll see you through.

Jesus loves you so much
That He’s willing to wait;
Even many a year-
As long as it takes.

If you’re lost and tired
And don’t know what to do,
Jesus has a message
Especially for you:

“Dear son, dear daughter,
If you only knew-
How much love I have
In my heart for you.

You needn’t be alone,
You need no longer roam,
Just run into my arms-
Dearest child, come home.”

Dear Jesus

You are the God I love so much,
You are the Morning Star in my heart.
I cannot live without your touch;
Without You, Lord, I fall apart.

I need Your breath to give me life,
Your light to brighten my day.
I need Your Word to open my eyes;
Your voice to show me the way.

I need Your Spirit to comfort me;
Your hand to hold me up.
Lord, please show me how to be;
So Your joy can fill my cup.

Walk the road of life with me;
Hold my hand along the way.
With all my heart I pray to Thee:
Dear Jesus, stay with me today!

Dear Neighbor

by Holly Troutman
(Lewis Run, PA)

My heart has been burdened
To those near I must go
To tell of God's love,
And His Son whom I know.

I pray for the boldness,
I pray to be used,
I pray to shed light,
To those those neighbors confused.

Do you know Him dear neighbor?
Have you been introduced?
"Tis a free gift that God offers.

Jesus' shed blood was once offered;
He bore the sin of us all.
Did you know this, dear neighbor?
It's on Him you must call!

I need to tell you, dear neighbor,
It's this you must know;
There's only one Savior;
God's Word says it's so.

I'd be willing to show you
In God's precious Word,
Jesus is the Way,
The Truth, and the Life.
Have you ever heard?

To earth Jesus came
Our example and guide;
He was hung on a cross;
At Calvary He died.

He was God's perfect Lamb,
The Resurrection and Life,
And when He arose,
He put an end to all strife.

You see my dear neighbor,
The battle is won.
To overcome evil,
We must call on God's Son.

Jesus Christ is my Lord,
My friend and my God.
My faith gives me hope
One day Heaven I'll have trod.

Are you wondering dear neighbor,
Why I tell you such things?
The greatest truths ever told,
And the joy that they bring?

Life here must end;
God gave us free will,
A Savior, a friend.
Sinners who choose
Not to trust in Him now,
Before Jesus' feet,
At judgment they'll bow.

I ask you dear neighbor,
Have you made a choice?
Jesus knocks on the door;
Can you hear His voice?

To those who won't answer,
Never open that door,
I must tell you dear neighbor,
That's whom Hell is prepared for.

There's no promise of tomorrow;
Live each day, one by one.
And I plead with you dear neighbor,
Please call upon God's Son.

The Bystander

by John Chapman
(Stockton-on-Tees, Teesside, England)

Here is the story of Jesus in the garden, carrying the cross, being crucified, and the reaction of a "bystander;" a Christian message in a poem.

Into the garden I idly strolled;
A shiver ran down my spine, quite cold,
As I gazed on a man oftimes seen before
Talking to God on His knees on the floor.

Then I saw soldiers surrounding the place,
And by one of His own He was kissed on the face.
They took Him away as a drum beat quite loud,
And I, a bystander, followed on with the crowd.

I asked someone who this man might be,
They said, Jesus, the Son of God, so says He.
He was taken to Pilate, the governor from Rome,
Who found no fault, but to the Jews did succumb.

I watched with sorrow as His cross He did carry,
With lashes from whips if He happened to tarry.
I'd heard Him say, "This is my Father's will
That I die on a cross on Calvary's hill."

They nailed His hands and feet to the wood,
Thrust a sword in His side as the cross upright stood.
Upon His head was a crown of thorns;
They taunted Him with scoffs and scorns.

I wept there as His life ebbed out,
Because I knew without a doubt
This was the Christ whom God had sent;
This was the death that God had meant.

As I went home I pondered long,
But in my heart there was a song.
After all this time, at last I could see
This Saviour died because He loved me.

To See God.

by W.T. Allen

This Christian message can help us be at peace, even when we are surrounded by chaos.

When we allow the kingdom of Heaven to cover our entire being, when we allow our love for our Creator to pull at the ropes dangling between our world and the realm of Angels, loneliness will cease to exist. Christ is the gateway from our hearts to the almighty, once we let our lamps burn with the flame of He who is Holy, we will forever be in good company.

To Measure His Love

by Connie K Cameron
(Anaheim, Ca)

God's strength, power and love are the subjects of this message in a Christian rhyming poem.

How can I ever measure
My Gods awesome love for me?
With this mind, I can't even imagine
Those things that only my Lord can see.

God is truly consummate
And perfect, I am not.
Jesus love for me is agape,
While my love runs cold and hot.

When my days become a burden,
And He carries me along,
It's in those times when I am weak,
That He alone is strong.

He is my Holy warrior.
It's my battles that He will fight.
Then what I need to do is pray,
And in God's time all things are made right.

Together we will conquer
Satan and his foolish pride;
With Holy Spirit leading,
The Lord is on my side.

To measure His undying love
For me and all of mine,
Be still and open Spiritual eyes,
And love will be His sign.

God's Love and Mercy

by Samuel Williams
(Portland, Oregon)

This Christian message covers the basics of Christian faith and life.

Though my body is weak, my spirit is strong;
God's precious love helps me go on.
Through my ups and downs of every day,
Jesus seems to light my way.

God opened His door to a broken man,
Living on the street, not his plan,
But Jesus gave him a brand new start;
He's preaching God's love to this man's heart.

There's power in trusting God,
And you can't buy it anywhere;
With faith and a heart-felt prayer,
God's Holy Spirit will help you prepare.

The Lord Jesus will give salvation to you,
But there's something still God wants you to do.
Be honest to yourself and also to Him,
So your whole new Christian life can begin.

Though my body is weak, but the spirit strong
God's precious love helps me go on.
Through my ups and downs of everyday,
Jesus seems to light my way.

Easter Week

by Ken Dawe
(Burwell' NE, USA)

The colt that Jesus rode into the town,
although taken from it's mother, it never turned around.
The people that lined the street:
"Crown Him king" they did repeat,
but before the week was out,
"Crucify Him!" were the words they'd shout.
Up Calvary's mountain Jesus did go,
all because He loved us so,
to shed His blood on Calvary's cross,
so that this world would not be lost.
In a cold, dark tomb, He was laid,
but as He predicted, He never stayed.
Early on that first Easter day,
the heavy stone was rolled away.
The women came; into the tomb they did peer,
and then they said, "He is not here;"
Jesus: "Why seek the living among the dead?"
Then they remembered what He said,
that in just three days He would rise,
and ascend back to His Father in the skies.
By steady faith we must believe,
and Jesus into our hearts receive.
Whatever you do, do not delay,
because we don't know the hour or day,
when from this earth we will be called away,
to our eternal destiny!

The Story

by Jim Price
(Bryan, TX)

This Christian message tells the Easter story and more.

About 2000 years ago
God sent His only Son
To live a life exemplary
Of how it should be done.

He loved, He healed, He lived the truth,
They found no fault in Him,
But darkness schemed for His demise
In a battle it would not win.

This Man who came to save the world
Was betrayed and crucified.
He endured excruciating pain
On an old rugged cross where He died.

But the story doesn't end there
For in three days He rose again,
Fulfilling all the prophecies
Of how He would conquer sin.

The best news of all in this story is
He's alive and living in the world today.
His Grace is sufficient for all our needs
As we travel along life's way.

If just by faith you'll accept Him,
He'll never leave you alone.
You see, it was for you He died,
For your sins He did atone.

Now He's preparing a place for you,
And thru Him your salvation is sure,
Just give your heart to Jesus Christ
And Heaven will be yours.

Whatcha Gonna Do Then!

by Alfred W Thomas, Sr.
(Milwaukee, Wisconsin )

This contemporary Christian message in a rhyming poem really hammers home the point: Whatcha gonna do then?

This world we're living in
Sure ain't nothing nice,
Chilled and filled with sin,
Far from paradise.

Oh, that's about to end,
'Cause JESUS is coming again.
As I ponder, I wonder, my friend,
Whatcha gonna do then?
Whatcha gonna do then?

The trumpets begin to blow,
And the flames begin to fall;
Look around, there's nowhere to go,
'Cause the fire's covering all.

Wonder whatcha gonna do,
When you come face to face
With Him who stands between you
And getting to that heavenly place!

Oh yeah, the end is showing,
Can hear the trumpets blowing,
The heat from the fire is glowing,
Herds of the saved ones flowing,
To claim their spot in the line,
That goes to the heavens divine.

He's coming again, my friend.
As I ponder, can't help but wonder:
Just whatcha gonna do then?

What A Happy Day It Will Be

by Ben Towell
(Greenfield IL, USA)

This Christian message tells us that "the end" is only the glorious beginning for Christians.

What a happy day it will be,
When Jesus Christ returns for me.
Pain and sorrow will not be missed;
A new found joy in heaven's bliss.
A wonderful end to my life's story,
Eternal life in the light of God's glory.
In the presence of Him will I then stand,
Set free from temptation and all sin demands.
Peace and rest will I then find,
When Jesus says that "this one is mine."

What Would "YOU" Do?

by By Jacob Malachi Applin
(Obetz, Ohio)

What would you do if God told you your time?
Would you still straddle fences,
Or would you walk the straight line?
Would you live each day better,
Or would you care what was done?
Would you cherish each second,
Or just live for the fun?
What would "YOU" do?

What would you do if God gave you the date?
Would you give them forgiveness,
Or say it's too late?
Would you love all your neighbors
just as yourself?
Would you hide all your earnings,
Or spread all your wealth?
What would "YOU" do?

What would you do if He said just one week?
Would you seek for revenge
Or turn the left cheek?
Would you tell them you're sorry
For the wrong that you've done?
Would you choose this dark world,
Or would you follow the Son?
What would "YOU" do?

What would you do if He said it's today?
Would you tell Him one moment,
"I just need to pray?"
Will you scream "I'm not ready,
And you know I'm too young"?
Will you pull out your Bible,
And speak unknown tongue?
Will you call on your best friends,
Who are down for whatever?
Will you wish you'd flown different,
Than the birds of that feather?

So what will you do
Since you don't know your last?
For no man knows the hour
When his name shall be cast!
Will you start at this moment,
And ask God to forgive?
Will you die to your flesh,
And only God will you live?

Will you start making changes,
Not a moment to waste?
Will you cherish each second,
Every minute His grace?
Will you not take for granted
This moment, you're blessed!
Oh What will "YOU" do
Since God gave you His best!

Be Thankful

by Mary Bone
(Wilson, OK)

A brief and uplifting Christian message:

Lord, we seek your face night and day.
When we pray, we try to keep the devil at bay.
Please help us with the words we say
And help us walk in an upright way.
Help us to read your word day by day,
And smile with the brightness of
the sunlight's ray.
Lord, help us to be thankful for just today.

Why Rid Christ from Us?

by Rhett Wintch
(Idaho Falls, Idaho )

Why does our government,
with all its wealth and power,
try to rid Christ from our lives,
at this crucial and troubled hour.

Change your religious beliefs,
they endeavor to preach and say.
Put aside your trust in God,
he doesn't know you, anyway.

Don't worry, everyone does it,
is the way you should believe.
Reform, entitlement, and control,
are philosophies you should receive.

The American Flag, why have it?
Just let it fall by the wayside.
It was luck that we became free.
It's in man not God, we should have pride.

Prayer, scriptures, and attending church,
throw those virtues out the door.
Government will protect and care for you,
it's them, you must learn to adore.

But what about what I was taught?
He atoned for all my sins and pain,
such that his blood fell to the ground,
his wish, eternal life, that we might gain.

On Calvary, he carried up his cross,
and gave his precious life for me.
Forgive them, he was heard to say,
as they drove nails, and hung him on a tree.

But three days later, from the tomb,
he rose again as he had said.
That all mankind could live again,
he crushed that serpent in the head.

Now he's felt our pain and sorrow,
he knows us, loves us intimately.
He guides, blesses and warms us,
he's there carrying us, so tenderly.

And as for me his little brother,
when I suffered pain and grief,
He was there uplifting—soothing,
forever granting me relief.

His spirit I've felt throughout my life,
comforting and inspiring trust.
I love him, adore him, worship him,
it's those that don't believe--should readjust.

Come back to him, all you that say,
I'm better off with man's decree,
than in the arms of Christ our Lord,
whose plan, we can live happily.

Why push him aside when he's the one,
who will fight our battles strong,
with heavenly power, wise and just,
in him we can't go wrong.

Our country will forever stand,
as long as those with faith proclaim.
He is our deliverer, our salvation,
it's on his rock we will remain.

I Am Loved

by Roger Ferguson, Jr.
(Graham, Texas, USA)

This Christian message reminds us that no matter what life throws at us, the Lord is always there to strengthen, comfort and guide us.

When your heart is broken and things seem never to go your way,
You want to cry out, "God, please take me away!"
The pain you suffer is so real;
No one understands just how you feel.

But I know, in my heart
God has been there from the start.
Although the world may see me cry
God cares enough to wipe the tears from my eye.

He loves me more than I will ever know,
But I can see it more, as time passes, and I grow.
I was on his mind when He was on the cross,
So today I remember, my life is not a loss.

Thank you God for sending us your son,
And forgiving me for everything I have done.
Thank you Jesus from heaven above,
For reminding me today I always have your love.

Protect Me From Me

by Kenneth Grant
(Kingston, Jamaica)

This Christian message could be based on the Apostle Paul's lament in Romans 7.

That which I do,
The same I do not want to do.
There is a tug-of-war
In my inner self.
Lord, protect me from me.
I am saved by your grace,
Yet I must live inside
This human castle,
Threatened by hurricane lust
And the floods of selfish desires.
Lord, protect me from me.
I want to forgive my neighbour,
Not get even and avenge my loss.
The natural voice of the sleeping man
Awakes like a tidal wave.
Under my body’s pressure, I surrender,
Lord, protect me from me.
As a sinner saved by grace
Cannot batten down with storm shutters,
Unless in the grave, I lay,
Each day I must live,
Reading the weather signs of life.
Lord, protect me from me.
Salvation does not mean no storm,
My eyes of reason are open wide,
Never seen a robot with a soul,
My heart, Lord, take full control,
Keep me in the borders of your grace.

Your Grace

by Yvonne Richardson
(Sacramento, California, USA)

This Christian message acknowleges the presence and the gifts of the Lord in our lives, all the time.

Lord, I know You're with me in all ways,
Even when I forget you for days.
Every day that I draw life's breath,
It's all due to your love and death.

I'm so thankful for the sacrifice You gave;
It's the path to my salvation You pave.
You never left me, even when I turned from you;
I wouldn't have made it, but by Grace, You saw me through.

I pray for your patience, as to You I draw near;
It's You I seek, for You to hear.
All my wishes and my dreams,
I reach for You, bursting at the seams.

I commit my soul unto Your care,
For upon Your shoulders, my sins You bear.
From this day forward, Your praises I'll sing,
Shouting loud, they shall ever ring.

You gave your life to the Father for me,
That fateful day on Calvary.

A New Beginning

by Brenda Elizabeth Rose
(Ottawa, Ontario, Canada)

As I fell upon my knees,
I cried, "Oh Lord what can I do
About the problems of this day,
These I give all unto you."

"It first begins with understanding,"
The Lord promptly replied,
And of course the Lord had listened,
For the Lord has never lied.

"And then there is some kindness
To give along the way
To brighten each tomorrow
As we live by what we pray."

"And don't forget forgiveness,"
I know the Lord has said;
We need it in our every day,
Like hunger needs some bread.

And with a new beginning,
Like the flower from the bud,
These are anchored and favoured by
A blessing of God's love.

In the Way of the Good

by Arnold Hoyer Rich lll
(Sarasota, Florida)

This Christian message could apply to just about everyone.

I ask you God, to let me live and learn,
To not do the things that cause me to burn.
To raise my family the best I can
God to Son, Jesus to man.

Take me Lord, and do your will,
I live to love, your commands to fulfill.
Teach me lord the steps I should know,
Hear my prayers, help me grow.

Open your heavens, let your light shine down,
Let my wealth in my mind be found.
Teach me, Lord, to walk the way I should,
Not in the lost, but in the way of the good!

Never Again

by Faith Ukwuomah
(St Helens, United Kingdom)

Here is a heartfelt, meaningful Christian message that is applicable to all of us.

The world as we know it was once made by God in perfectness,
But after the fall of man, it has gone to a mess,
Enough to lead to dogmatic political correctness.
Thus the human race has gone into madness,
Accepting all manner of sin, carnality and unbelief,
All in the name of so-called gladness.

But as for me, I have made my decision,
An essential yet crucial one that includes the Great Commission.
In all certainty, we are put on earth for a mission,
Just as Christ Jesus was, before His crucifixion.

I choose to follow, serve and obey Christ,
Who set me free, paying at the cross the ultimate price.
Looking back now, I'm not going to think twice,
Because the decision I made is for paradise.

I began to do it, put His Words into practice and preached
To every lost soul who needed to be reached.
As believers, we are indeed called serve Jesus,
To go to the world and teach all nations,
But the world thinks we committed a breach,
And imposed upon us restrictions.

Then I stumbled into an unprecedented situation,
It felt like standing on a slippery but shaky foundation.
As they questioned me and I answered,
They accused me of transgression.
At the finale, their threats and attacks led me to tearful degradation.

I have shed enough tears; enough hiding in fears.
Never again will I retreat like no one cares.
I'll rather do and say what the Lord God wants to hear,
Even if all will hate me or find the Truth too much to bear.
To go back crying in fear? Never again.

Lord, We Feel Your Power

by Dawn Easthope
(Coventry)

This Christian message shows a wide range of understanding of what being a Christian is about.

Lord, we feel Your power as You serve as our guide,
Giving us courage right by our side,
conquering our battles, whether great or small,
Showing us compassion whenever we fall.

Sometimes we face heartache,
But You're there to hold our hands,
Leading us gently forwards
Into bright golden lands.

You help us face and conquer our fears,
And help to brush away our tears.
You stand us up and help us learn,
As we walk forwards and start to return

To the way God intended for us to be,
A life where we are finally set free
From pain and conflict and troubles and strife.
A return to a better and gentler life,

Where we are finally living at peace,
And the fighting has begun to cease.
Where we can freely share Your love,
And carry the message from heaven above.

Taught to us by one who has given
His life so that we could be forgiven.
Lord, we love You for all You have done,
Given us Your life as God's only Son.

You died on the cross to forgive our sin;
You gave us our lives so we could begin again.

Jerusalem - New Jerusalem

by Joe Little
(New York, NY)

This esoteric Christian message is biblically based. Do you get it?

Much has he spoken, much can be seen,
Good light and dark night and all in between.
Rivers to oceans and chicks to their hen,
All creation it yearns for New Jerusalem.

Jerusalem, I miss strolling in the cool shade
with my friend, beside the still water. New Jerusalem.

Far has he traveled and much has he known,
Valleys of shadowland filled with dry bones.
Vast separation now comes to an end.
Free at last, God almighty, New Jerusalem.

Jerusalem, I miss strolling in the cool shade
with my friend, beside the still water. New Jerusalem.

Come down from heaven, come down and bless,
Come meet your bride in her white satin dress.
Streets made of gold lined with diamonds and gems.
Here they come, now forever, New Jerusalem.

God's Love

by Leslee A. Owrey
(Springfield, MO USA)

Made in the image of God is man,
But man seems to have forgotten that fact;
Upon Him have they turned their backs.

Through lust and greed man is driven to sin;
By the Grace of God man can be forgiven again.
Of no doubt these are times of tribulation,
Headaches, sorrows, and aggravation.

There is really no need to doubt or fear,
For God is always watching and always near.
When you've reached the end and can't go another day,
God will be there to show you the way.

For God's love is all around;
Through His only Son, salvation can be found.
When in doubt and not sure where to look,
Open your hearts, open your eyes and read the Good Book.

Leaving Home

by Roger Ferguson Jr.
(Graham, Texas, USA)

This Christian message sounds like it was written for a runaway, but maybe not...

When your heart is hard as stone,
And you are running from your home,
When you think no one cares,
You need to stop, and say your prayers.

You always have Jesus, no matter where you go,
He's always with you through high and low.
Always remember Jesus can heal,
That broken heart and emptiness you feel.

Jesus loves you, this I know,
So stop and think before you go.
God gave you a family who loves you so;
Never give up, and never let go.

There is nothing you can do,
To make Jesus stop loving you.
All you have to do is kneel and pray,
And Jesus will help you find your way,

Back to the life HE meant for you to live,
With a family who gives you love
Like no other can give.
Seek God in every choice you make,
And always remember its never to late.

Turn from your sins; repent today,
Because Jesus loves you,
And wants you to stay,
Right with Him until that day!

Thank You For...

by Jessica
(Australia)

Thankfulness is the point of this Christian message.

Thank you for...

Knitting me to life by Your perfect love,
Your tender love from heaven above,
Every breath You breathed into me,
Saving me from hell, which has set me free.

Waiting upon me by Your great patience,
The chance to be born in this last generation,
Listening what I have to say,
Giving me each brand new day.

Every drop of water that comes my way,
Every bit of food I have every day,
A roof over my head to keep me warm,
Making me strong through every storm.

Your divine protections, with angels by my side,
Sanctifying me daily, putting away my pride,
Guidance, beautifully leading my journey back home,
Being with me when I was alone.

Heartwarming families and friends for me,
The beautiful nature that speaks to me sweetly,
Every step I can take, all through Your power,
Vision, so I can behold a world of amazing colors.

Your encouragements in the times of need,
Your constant chastening that I love to heed,
The teachings that equipped me well for my soul,
Training my faith to give You complete control.

Wisdom that I can use for Your glory,
The chance to sleep every night peacefully,
Justice–the Prince of Peace!
Giving me smiles that will never cease.

Being my God, my best friend, my master,
Being my bridegroom, my savior and doctor.
Being my teacher, my father, my everything,
Being Your clay and masterpiece that's progressing!

Love, Make Me Whole

by Valya
(USA)

This summary of what many of us feel before becoming Christians is a Christian message many people need to hear.

I am the one with doubt and fear,
Forgetting why I'm even here.
I am the one who's lost, afraid,
Swallowing pain in a pathetic charade.

Afraid to finally come out and say,
"What's in me is not okay."
What is in me is hard to say,
Just wishing it would go away.

To cleanse my soul from heaviness,
Some sort of heavy emptiness.
To find some sort of way about,
To rid my soul of fear and doubt.

To be content with my own self,
And throw all doubts right off my shelf.
It must be possible I thought,
If Jesus all this love has brought.

Love is unsettling to me,
What evil doesn't want to see.
It hides the one, the best solution,
To start an internal revolution.

A revolution in my soul,
For love to make me calm and whole.

Love and Hope

by Carol Suttibugha
(Las Vegas, NV)

This Christian message emphasizes some very important aspects of Christianity.

Love and Hope, just four letters each,
Yet how deep their meaning; how far their reach.
For down from heaven, True Love came,
Bringing Hope, in the Father's name.

Love and Hope, forever bound,
When you have one, the other is found.
Hope exists because Love came first;
Because Love saw beauty in a world that was cursed.

Love and Hope, planted deep in each soul;
Each one separate, having its own role.
Love shines light on Hope, its mate;
Hope magnifies love, blotting out all hate.

Love and Hope, so simple, so true,
These uplifting words, for me, for you.
Love and Hope, as eternal as time;
Our link to heaven and all things sublime.

Celebrating Our Life Together With God

by Cynthia J. MacKenzie

This Christian message is a lovely, heartfelt Christian anniversary poem.

We met so very long ago;
We were young back then.
Close your eyes for a moment;
Remember that day when
We stood there close together
And promised for all time,
I would always be yours,
And you'd always be mine.

We made our vows that day
To almighty God above
To love, honor, and cherish,
To always walk in love,
To be the kind of Christians
He wants both of us to be,
To make a life together,
And raise a family.

Now our children have their children;
Their children also do;
Still we are together
In a love that's tried and true.
A love that has known happiness,
A love that has known tears
A love that has seen God at work
In our lives through all the years.

We took our fears and pain to Him;
He mended them with care,
And when it came to blessings,
We had a lot to spare.
God has been so good to us,
Thanks does not seem enough,
Especially in some troubled times
When things were kind of rough.
Knowing He was there beside us
Every step of the way,
Gave us courage to go on
With life, day after day.

On this anniversary
We celebrate today,
Let us not forget
To bow our heads and pray.
He promises eternal life;
His promises are true.
Turn to God with open heart,
And He will walk with you.

Thank You, God

by Xavier Zavala
(Kyle Tx )

Some Christian messages are direct conversations with God, like this one.

Words just can't express
What's truly on my heart;
I know what I want to say;
I just don't know where to start.

This empty feeling I have inside
Will try to drag me down,
But I know that you will hold me
So I won't hit the ground.

Your love is what I yearn for,
Something I truly need.
I thank you so much every day
For the chance I get to breathe.

Your words and message are amazing
Something I receive,
To do Your will and spread the Word
To make people believe.

You make me smile just knowing,
You're right here next to me,
To give me strength and guide me
Through impossibility.

No uttered words or description
Can explain my love for you,
Just know, dear God, that in this life
There is nothing I wouldn't do.

You give me life and what I need
To be my very best,
Every time something goes wrong
I know its just a test.

Your name I praise and glorify
Till it is time to go,
Thank you God, for all you do
Just thought I'd let you know.

Pray For America

by Ivan Sada
(Queens, NY)

This Christian message is inspired by Isaiah 30:10 and 2 Timothy 4:4, says the author. I think he may have meant also to include Isaiah 30:9 as well as 10 and 2 Timothy 4:3 as well as 4, to add context for the reader. You might also want to take a look at my poem A Prayer for America.

Nothing is free, I was cautioned, even advice,
where milk and honey flowed.

And in the midst of settling
in the collective states of confusion
I saw grace so selflessly bestowed,
selling on markets of denomination.

Salvation is merchandised on vending machines
and is no longer free for the thirsty or the hungry
but to only those
who see what they want to see,
hear what they want to hear,
and believe what they want to believe.

Deception is served without charge,
and a membership is thrown in for free,
and in unison, they shout,
"give us no more visions of what is right!
tell us pleasant things and prophesy illusions."
And alas,
"They turn their ears from hearing the truth
and start believing in myths."

Nothing is free, now I'm aware;
salvation, a mindless care,
but a membership, a social strata
is not an option; that is all they care.

The Spirit doesn't live here anymore.
Pray for America.

Where The Heart Is

by Jennifer Cruz
(Phoenix, AZ)

This author looks forward to her eternal home in this Christian message.

If home is where the heart is,
For that is what they say,
If home is where the heart is,
Then my home is far away.

If home is where the heart is,
There's no need to dismay;
If home is where the heart is,
My tears will be wiped away.

If home is where the heart is,
I look forward to "someday;"
If home is where the heart is,
Jesus, please show me the way!

God's Tree of Life

by Gerard Napolitano
(East Boston, USA)

In His garden that He planted,
His tree of life stood so grand,
Calling all He willed,
To give them this command:

Come nigh to be grafted,
So as not to be set apart.
Come ye all My colors;
To My root join thy heart.

When My Son came to earth,
Much prejudice did abound;
Everywhere He traveled,
Separation blared it's sound.

His prayer was to graft,
Returning to His branch that broke,
All those He came to die for,
His kindred and Gentile folk.

None were different caused by color;
All were children to My name;
None were higher in their glory,
Only in Me would be their fame.

My tree of life bears much fruit,
Yes, from My branches when they fall,
By dying to self, its seeds take root,
Joined to Him by his echoed call.

One in Him, Amen.

Touch Someone's Life

by Debbie
(California)

This Christian message has a lesson for all of us.

You can touch someone's life,
Just by what you say or do;
It's nice to be able to do that,
And I'm going to do it too.

It might be by an act of kindness,
Or just by something we say;
It really doesn't matter what it is,
Because it will sure make their day.

So try to touch someone's life,
And show them your kindness and love.
You will be blessed in so many ways,
By our Lord and Savior above.

River of Sorrows

by Kris
(Texas, USA )

Here is a Christian message filled with intense emotion and love for the Lord.

Oh my soul,
crying into the dead of night;
lust, fame, and power squeeze with might,
hardening my heart and blinding my sight.
How often have I fallen
on bloody knees weeping and crawling,
where the river rages upon me,
rushing and roaring into the seas.
With drowning screams I cry,
the waves pushing past and life passing by,
trying to collect my sinking lies,
only to receive a temporary high.
Suddenly out of the storm
comes a man walking on water, breaking the norm.
with love, endurance, and patience he came to reform
that which was destroyed and torn.
He said:
"Come, let the dead bury the dead;
I am the life, truly man's daily bread.
Only I can understand
truly what is in the heart of a man."
Behold my Savior, my love, and my friend!
Out of mercy He chose to mend
this very broken heart of mine.
Through his own name,
Jesus, who stands the test of time,
I find my eternal rest,
not in honor, fame, or the mess,
but with a Savior so sweet,
He lowered himself to wash my feet.

Alabaster Jar of Perfume

by Jane Harel
(Nairobi, Kenya, Africa)

The "alabaster jar of perfume" in this Christian message is from the Bible. See Matthew 26, Luke 7 and John 11. I find the word "alabaster" in the New American Standard and the New International Version but not in some other versions.

Oh Lord, I love You and worship You,
Am at Your feet just adoring You,
Am at Your feet just loving You.
I am at Your feet in reverence,
Because I know that my sins have been washed away.
I know that You have cancelled my debt.
May The Lord take this worship
As a sacrifice,
As a sweet fragrance,
Coming from an alabaster jar of perfume,
Just flowing, enveloping.
May I sit at Your feet forever,
Worshiping You,
Loving You,
As a sweet fragrance
Coming from the alabaster jar of perfume.
Flowing, enveloping,
To herald a new beginning.

If It Is

by Jane Harel
(Nairobi, Kenya)

This Christian message is in the form of a prayer.

Lord, am in a dilemma today,
How things have gone from bad to worse,
How I feel the pain.
I am confused;
Unconfuse me.
I depend on your grace, Lord.

If It is working, strengthen my hands for the work set out before me.

If it is sitting, let me sit in peace and not in pieces.

If it is listening, open my spiritual ears.

If it is talking, fill my mouth with words of wisdom.

If it is touching, may miracles happen.

If it is praying, let me pray in spirit and in truth.

If it is walking, let me walk in confidence.

If it is praising, let me joy in praising you.

If it is loving, let me love with my whole heart.

Amen.

My Thirsty Soul

by Florence Laraiyetan

A Christian message from an obedient servant of the Lord.

Teach me Lord, to walk with you
Through the darkness and the blue.
Make my life Your sanctuary.
God's strong obedient boundary.

The path of righteousness is all I desire;
I'm satisfied if my heart you inspire.
I may be imperfect and often wrong;
I wonder about that all day long.

When the enemy comes to knock on my door
Grant thy grace to be my Saviour.
Holy Spirit of truth quicken me,
To be pure and righteous, so God's glory I see.

Knowing You, Jesus, knowing You,
Loving You, Jesus, growing in grace,
Step by step, all You say, I'll do,
Till I see my King, till I see Your face.

What Can I Do for the King?

by Jane Harel
(Nairobi, Kenya)

Many Christians frequently pray to the Lord, that He will do something for them. This Christian message asks "What can I do for Him?

What can I do for the King?
He has done so much for me.
He has created me.
He has kept and preserved me.
He has lifted me up from the deep.
So what can I do for my King?

He has healed all my diseases.
He has given me salvation.
He has protected me.
He has given me wealth and health.
He has loved me;
He became sin so that I may be saved.
He has done so much for me.
What can I do for my loving God?

I will lift up my cup of salvation.
I will exalt His name.
I will bow down in worship.
I will prostrate before the King.
I will honor and glorify Him.
I will worship Him in truth and in spirit.
This is what I will do for my King!

Christian Navigators

by Robert F. Hunter
(Abbeville, SC, USA)

This Christian message compares the Christian life to sailing a ship.

Like tumble weeds which give in
and go with any wind
driftwood will go with the flow.
We're not to yield to outside force;
someone has already plotted our course.
Diligently we must steer,
because the devil will try to veer
the good ship salvation
from it's destination.
We needn't let the devil stump us;
we have the word for our compass.
The cross is our passage,
faith is our sail,
grace is the wind that will not fail.

I AM LOVE

by Chris Stallaby
(Fort Worth TX USA)

The Lord speaks to us through this Christian message.

As I reached down into the clay, I imagined who you would be,
The intimacy we would share, as you begin to see, you were made for Me.
I built you from the ground up; I raised you and set you apart.
I breathed into you and gave you a part of Me.
As your eyes came to life and you first glimpsed my face,
My eyes filled with joyful tears as you asked “Who are you?”

My child, I am the one who formed you; I am the one who created all you see.
I made the heavens, I built the earth, I am responsible for everything that is and will be.
I am Power, I am jealous desire for you, I will be with you to the end.
I am Joy, I am Peace, I am Hope, I am your Lover, your Father and your Friend.
I am all you need; I am everything you will ever want.

Then I watched as the wicked one deceived you; my heart broke as you turned away.
But after you realized your mistake, you tried to hide your sin from sight.
My child I love you, I don't want to lose you, but for your sin someone must pay.
You can't make the sacrifice for yourself, so I will give my own life to make this right.

Now as I hang here on this tree, My body thrashed, My blood spilled,
My eyes fill with tears of love and desire, yet still you scream for My death.
My lungs, with my own blood are being filled,
Agonizing pain comes with every breath.
All this to show you who I am, to show how I love you,
You asked Me who I am, I am showing you now.

Still you walk in darkness because the devil has blinded your eyes.
He doesn't want you to know how I desire you.
My love for you is an all-consuming fire, My heart is ravished with one look from your eyes.
Ask Me again your first question, your first words, “Who are you?”

My child I am the one who formed you; I am the one who created all you see.

Now my beloved, open your eyes, your sins are gone.
I've made you clean; you no longer have to be separate from Me.
Come to Me and get lost in My love; discover Me and let Me discover you.
You ask Me again, “Who are you?”
As joy fills My heart to know you long for Me, My simple reply comes, “I am Love,”

The Name of Jesus

by Chris Stallaby
(Fort Worth, TX USA)

At the name of Jesus,
The demons run screaming;
Life begins teeming.
At the name of Jesus,
The mountains are humbled, and
The devils grumble.
At the name of Jesus,
The heavens raise their voices;
My soul rejoices.
At the name of Jesus,
The universe listens
As His voice glistens.
At the name of Jesus,
Lost souls are saved;
The road of righteousness is paved.
At the name of Jesus,
Nothing is impossible,
No matter the obstacle.
At the name of Jesus,
The universe began,
Life was given to man.
At the name of Jesus,
Every knee will bow,
As He comes here now.
Let all glory and praise be given
To the mighty name of Jesus.

Calling on God

by Philip Kolesar
(Amherst, Ohio USA)

This Christian message is a plea for help from the Lord to be a better Christian.

Lord Your Word says to knock
And the door shall be opened.
Well I'm calling on You, God,
Because I'm truly broken.

I often find myself
Alone and without sight,
Just forgetting all about
Your love and guiding light.

I sometimes try to do things
Without You in mind,
And end up going backwards,
Further and further behind.

Lord please hear
These words I say;
I surrender all to You
This very day.

Help me to be a better Father,
And a good Christian man.
I want to be led by You,
So please reach out Your hand.

Lord, please equip me
With all that I need,
So as a husband and father
I can truly lead.

Lord give me the patience
And desire to succeed,
In being more like Christ,
Helping others in need.

Give me the courage
To stand and be heard,
So that I can boldly
Speak Your word.

I now know You have a plan;
With You by my side I know I can.

Prayer for All

by Ryan Meehan
(Moline, IL, United States)

In a world full of confusion and chaos,
In a time that is riddled with madness,
It's easy to see all that's wrong with the world,
And end up feeling lost in such sadness.

Holy wars raging with no end in sight,
Acts of senseless violence overseas,
Extreme poverty taking its toll on the helpless,
And millions more living with disease.

We never quite know where disaster will strike,
When we lay down to sleep every night,
But we can always find hope in the adage,
With darkness eventually comes light.

The Lord understands our concern for such suffering,
And cringes at the overwhelming amount of sin.
He knows that this world he created can be
So much better than the predicament we're in.

He wants us to know there is good in the world,
And happier times are ahead.
He wants us to see through our differences and realize
We are all God's children instead.

As we often fall short of the glory,
And find ourselves drifting astray,
We sometimes fail to remember
The Lord is always one short prayer away.

So my wish for this year is to ask God's forgiveness
For the sins of this oft misguided earth
To see the good in all his creation,
And realize the power of Christianity's worth.

We want him to know we are eternally grateful
For everything we have to this day.
May he guide us to peace and prosperity
In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.

Yearn To Be Spotless

by Camin McMurry
(Spencer, OK, USA)

Although this Christian message in free verse does not mention Jesus, the message is clear and biblical.

Yearn to be spotless,
To be without a blemish,
Go and seek to be cleansed at last.

Humanity’s filthy deeds are countless.
We can be cleansed from our impurity;
Yearn to be spotless.

People will become heartless,
As they diminish.
Go and seek to be cleansed at last.

Adulterous men are thoughtless;
With their actions they perish.
Yearn to be spotless.

Men and women cover themselves
With pointless coverings that will tarnish,
Go and seek to be cleansed at last.

You, my friend, stop being fruitless.
Before you finish, yearn to be spotless.
Go and seek to be cleansed at last.

. . . . Shhhhhhhhhhh

by Marilyn J. Dworshak (Dvorak)
(Cypress, Texas, USA)

This Christian message tells us we should always find our refuge in the Lord.

"The conies are but feeble folk,
Yet make their houses in the rocks" (Prov. 30:26)
To feel secure

Aware of their fragility,
Do they hide within the cleft,
As David in his cave of Adullam? (1 Sam. 22:1)

But who might their Oppressor be?

Perhaps temptation lies in wait
Like wicked men who setteth snares (Jer. 5:26)
Or, secret sin that whispers
. . . .Shhhhhhhhhh
Though sin will find them out! (Num. 32:23)

Do we, as they, just run and hide
In stony places where no comforts be,
As if to say, "There is no God"? (Ps. 14:1)

If so, may this now be our prayer:

"Because O Lord, Thou hast redeemed my life,
And pleaded causes of my soul," (Lam. 3:58)
I do believe.

And now, "boldly unto the throne of grace,"
I’ll run instead,
Where, there, I may "find grace
To help in time of need" (Heb. 4:16)

The Only One

by Brenda Collins
(Saint Louis, MO, USA)

This heartfelt Christian message, a tribute to God, may inspire others who have similar problems.

Every day and every night negative thoughts consumed me.
I didn't want anyone to know, so I suffered quietly.
Can I wake up with one positive feeling? No, I guess not.
Never once did I think to share my emotions, not even with God.

Instead of me chasing after my Heavenly Father,
I pursued worldly things to compensate.
Maybe I thought I could handle it all by myself,
With trust issues, that was something I had to accept.

I tried everything else, but God, I did not try.
For a moment those other things pleased me; I cannot lie.
When I finally cried out, so desperately, for His help,
My Father's love is what I genuinely felt.

He removed the hate, the doubt, and the anxiety,
And replaced them with love, joy, and peace.
God's light shines bright in my life now,
If it weren't for His willingness to forgive,
I would still be lost...WOW!

I thank God for the renewal of my mind and heart.
Many have tried, but no one could tear us apart.
I went through many years of emotional pain,
But God is the only One that kept me from going insane.

Try God

by Darlene Thomas
(Odessa, TX)

This Christian message has many life applications.

When things in life are not going right,
stop, think, meditate and pray
and ask God to help you fight the fight.
Don’t try to do things all alone.
Let go and allow God to make you strong.
When other people do you wron,g as they so often do,
Remember, God is working through others to raise you,
Raise you up to where HE wants you to be,
So that the whole world will see
G - O - D.
In every choice or decision that you make,
ask God, "Is this the right path for me to take?"
Every word that you speak,
pray and ask God to help you say it righteously.
Everything your hands find to do,
Do it for the Lord and He will see you through.
God has the power to open doors for you.
Just learn to WAIT patiently,
live faithfully and righteously,
and you will be amazed
at what Almighty God can do.

What To Do When You Are In Despair

by Noluthando Agape Spengane
(Humansdorp, Eastern Cape, South Africa)

Here is a Christian message from South Africa:

Are you
Hopeless, heavyhearted, discouraged?
Disappointed, distressed, downcast?
Confused, fearful, anxious, frustrated?
Without peace, without purpose, without love,?
Clueless, without direction?
Jesus is the answer; Jesus is the solution.

Make Him your everything,
And in everything He will be your solution;
In all your circumstances He will be your answer.
He is the answer, He is the Solution!

In His Word, He declares that:
He is near to the broken-hearted
and saves the crushed in spirit.
He also declares that
all who labour and are heavy laden
should come to Him,
and they will find rest for their souls.
He is the answer; He is the solution.

Yes it happens at times.
We find ourselves in
hopeless, confused, fearful circumstances,
but that does not mean God has forsaken us.
He is always and will always be with us.
He has promised to never leave nor abandon us.
Throw all your worries on God,
because he cares for you.
He is the answer; He is the solution.

In every situation, turn to God.
Always speak to the situation.
Declare life and truth.
Refuse to tolerate the lies of the enemy.
Because he (the enemy) is plundering around
like a roaring lion,
seeking someone to devour.
Seeking to destroy you,
and he always opportunities like despondency
to get to us.
Be sober minded and alert.
Be focused and fix your thoughts on Jesus.
Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

How I Hate Christmas

by Joanne Finck
(Spokane Valley, WA, USA)

I can personally relate to this Christmas message. However, I don't hate Christmas anymore; I just don't do it. I love Christ, but his birthday is not stated in the Bible. Shepherds with their flocks at night is unlikely to be December. The church at the time artifically chose December 25 to be close to the pagan winter soltice celebration, hoping to attract pagans to Christianity. I used to hate Christmas, but I fixed that.

(Note: I don't have time anymore to edit submissions, so what follows belongs to the author only. A similar, shorter poem of mine, on the same subject, appears on the Christian Christmas Poems page.)

~~~
How I hate Christmas, this I must confess.
The hustle and bustle, all uselessness.
Give me and get me, the children all say.
I'll go see Santa and tell him today!
There is no denying, I must, I need!
The latest and greatest, oh how you must please.
And, what about friends and family too?
I must consider them in my long list to do.
Will they like this grand gift I bought?
Will they see what I really thought?
The only thing that matters is what I care,
How they see me in what I share.
The prison walls I build ever so high,
Put there by me, one demand at a time.
I must get the decorations, how perfect they must be!
It all must be grand; it's how they'll see me!
Oh how I hate Christmas, the demands are so great,
As I build my prison walls of dos and dates.
Go, go, go! Get it done now!
The tree, the lights, the meal; oh how I must wow!
My credit card is maxed. Oh what should I do?
30% off, you will save, they say, too.
Hurry on in, come now and come quick,
And get a free gift for you to pick!
I have to buy, I have to be kind.
The shopping, the sales, I must hurry to find.
How tired I am, how much more can I take?
The prison I am in is the one I create.
Oh how I hate Christmas, I secretly confess.
Why do we do this, create this mess?
I fall to my knees, in complete desperation.
If this is Christmas, I need complete separation!
Oh what is this Christmas that has imprisoned my soul?
My pocketbook, my heart, my spirit, my whole?
Where does this come from, this hustle this mess?
But, man's definition of what he can get.
In my moment of distress, a voice then I hear.
Christmas is none of this worldly appear.
It's about love I come to show you.
A life filled with peace and joyfulness too.
There are no gifts needed.
No lists to be completed.
No cost is involved, no prison walls created.
It's about faith and love and hope.
My Word I give to more than just cope.
To be a light in a world with darkness all around,
Blinded by sin, turned upside down.
I was born to give you freedom from the prison wall,
This world desires you to build oh so tall.
To break the chains created by worldly demands,
To hold you close in my Holy Hands.
So stop this destructive self-imposed position,
Demanded by a world with only selfish ambition.
Look at my Word, trust in what I say.
Obey my commands I give you this day.
Salvation from a world that only desires to imprison,
To a life everlasting completely forgiven.
From a life that's a vapor, from a world that is passing,
A life eternal, abundant and free, all is yours by only asking.
Seek Me, knock and you will find
A peace everlasting and wonderfully divine.
Love others in need, help those who are lonely,
Pray and you will find. Ask, that is only.
This free gift of life for you to receive,
I have given if only you believe.
So hate this Christmas the world has defined,
To imprison your soul and lose your mind!
God so loved the world, he gave you a Savior to show the way.
To release you from the prison of sin and all its decay.
Christmas is not about a person in red, nor a house dressed with glee,
Nor about presents all under the tree.
It not about you, nor your grand display,
It's not even about what people will say.
It's about a Savior born to die you see,
It's about Savior born to set men free!
Just Submit
by Ikechukwu Bolum
(Lagos, Nigeria)
This Christian message applies to the vast majority of Christians, including me.
(Note: I do not have time to edit anymore. Omission of punctuation is the author's decision.)
The word of God says;
Do not be afraid
Jesus says;
Let not your heart be troubled
And I said I know
I believe in Jesus
I trust in you Lord
But my heart is still troubled
So I asked myself
Why am I still worried?
Then a voice in me said
You have not submitted completely
And a thought came to me
Maybe I have not submitted a few things
Or maybe it is just some things
Or could it be most things in my life
It is because I have not submitted all things to God
I do not know how to submit all things
I want to, I really do
But I still do not know how to
So I embarked on a personal mission
To learn how to submit
To submit all to God
Then I realized I need faith
Faith cometh by hearing
Hearing of the word of God
So in my limited knowledge
I concluded;
I need a big and strong faith
But Jesus Christ says
If only I have faith
As little as a mustard seed
Then I can command a mountain
To move into the sea
So I prayed to God
Firstly for His mercy
Then for His grace
Because I need them
To grow even in a little faith
For me to submit to my creator
Completely and wholeheartedly
I thank the good Lord
My Father in Heaven
For sending His holy spirit
To minister to my heart
Because now I know
The root of my worries
I pray in the name of Jesus
That the Lord will help me
In this journey of salvation
Reason of Praise
by Michael Barber
(Mooresville, NC, USA)
This Christian message brings joy and peace.
My heart races, being compelled to praise
Worshiping in His presence, my hands to raise,
Admiring my Lord with a shout in my soul,
Thanking God for being made whole.
Singing with the choir as our voices
become one,
Exalting our Saviour: God's only begotten Son,
Opening our hearts to let God have control,
While songs of praise doth continually flow.
Preaching the gospel of the Lord, our source,
As God's word brings the sinner to remorse.
Praying on the altar and in the pews,
For all to hear the wonderful news.
Salvation is free to all who come;
Call upon the Lord and all is done.
The rejoicing in heaven is like ringing a bell.
Because one more soul has been saved
from hell.
Worthy is our God who has paid the price;
Only faith in the Lord Jesus will suffice.
The prayers and praise and singing of song
Is because he is our God to whom we belong.
The worship of the Father is heartfelt
and pure,
When one is saved and they know it for sure.
My Potter
by Jane Harel
(Nairobi, Kenya)
This Christian message references the Bible, re God being a potter and we being his clay.
The Lord is building me up;
He is my potter,
I am His clay.
He molds me.
He puts me together.
Through the sadness
He carries me.
Wipe all tears,
Tears I have cried in the yester years.
Remove the pain.
The Lord will carry me,
Even as my step falters.
He will steady me, with His right hand.
And he molds me,
And creates again something new.
He makes me wonder about his wondrous deeds,
For He makes all things perfect for his glory.
Let me behold You, my Potter.
Pour the oil of gladness.
Refresh and sustain me.
Refresh me like the streams of the Negev.
Mold me again my Potter, my Lord.
Letter From Above
by Paulette Dochstader
(Canada)
This Christian message comes from God.
Come my child come.
I see you searching for the truth.
I hear you calling out my name.
Come dance with me this day,
before the sun goes down to rest,
And hides behind the clouds to nest.
There is a river flowing,
a river that will bring you life.
Reach out to me my precious child,
for I long to see you smile,
and in my arms you will rest.
Your tears I have held in my hands,
and wept with you on shores of sand.
In this world darkness will come,
But the light comes from my Son.
You will have a strength within,
That comes from me your closest friend.
All your heartache I will carry,
That you today would not be weary.
There is a gentle breeze that blows,
Surrounding you wherever you go,
A gentle breeze
from the sea waves of mercy encamping thee,
To wash away all your pain and hurt;
you will be free.
This letter of love I send to you,
To let you know I care for you.
Now shed those tears of joy, my precious child.
Sealed and signed from above,
God, with love
OVER NIGHT DELIVERY
by DENNIS AMBROSE
(VINELAND N.J. USA)
A Christian message of prayer, for and about heaven.
This night I send a special prayer,
an urgent message to someone I love.
I gave it to my guardian angel,
to quickly carry to someone above.
Many seasons have passed,
in their time, and special glory.
To each I remember like a song,
to each a life, and well written story.
My message is the heaven is not far,
much closer than the nearest star.
We can find heaven closer than our dreams,
in bright star light, and golden sun beams.
This night I send an overnight delivery,
one special prayer, on a flight to heaven.
Just a breath away and it will arrive,
speeding by quickly this moment in time
When it arrives at heaven's gate,
then I will know they received my prayer at last.
Silently I will sit and wait,
for my message from yesterday's past.
Safe in His Hands
by Phil A.
(Richardson, Texas)
This Christian message will resonate with all whose faith is firm.
No condemnation now we fear,
The Spirit set us free;
His grace and mercy have appeared,
A son I’ve come to be.
Nothing in heaven nor on earth,
Can part us from His love;
The ransom paid has given birth,
To countless saints above.
By faith we have been justified,
No works of mine I boast;
By hope we’ll soon be glorified,
And join all heaven’s host.
So many reasons to rejoice,
Even in this dark land;
The sheep can hear his loving voice,
And follow His commands.
His saints must never be dismay’d,
Or sink in hopeless fear;
All things seen now are soon to fade,
Our Savior will appear.
The suff’rings of this present time,
Can’t compare to glory;
The highest mountains we must climb,
Till we end our story.
"The Gospel in Verse"
by Charlie Daniel
(Lawrence, MI, United States)
An account of Jesus' life on earth, in a Christian message.
Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son,
Was born right here on earth,
Conceived of the Holy Spirit,
The Virgin Mary gave Him birth.
His birthplace was a stable
In the town of Bethlehem.
His earthly father Joseph
Watched over both of Them.
The site of His Holy Birth
Was marked by a bright moving star.
Some shepherds came from nearby,
Three kings from the Orient afar.
The kings had brought the Christ child gifts
Of Frankincense, Myrrh, and Gold,
Then traveled on a different road home,
For in a dream they had been told.
He was destined to a ministry
Filled with miracles and love,
To speak the truth and light the way
To His heavenly kingdom above.
He was baptized in the Jordan
By a man wearing camel hair.
The man was John the Baptizer
Whom God had sent there.
As a Guest at a wedding celebration
Accompanied by some brothers,
He changed water into a good wine
At the urging of His Mother.
He made the lame whole again,
Raised some people from the dead,
Multiplied a little bread and fish
So that multitudes could be fed.
He cleansed many lepers
And gave sight to many blind,
Cured disease and sickness,
Every kind that He would find.
He cast out unclean spirits
From the people they possessed,
Gave speech to mutes, hearing to the deaf,
And freedom to those oppressed.
He walked across the water,
Calmed the wind and sea,
Chastised the Apostles
For how little faith there seemed to be.
He spoke in many parables
And did so wherever He went,
Then explained them to the Apostles
So they knew what was meant.
He said to His disciples,
“Let the little children come to Me,
For if you are to get to Heaven,
Humble like these you must be.”
It was the time to celebrate Passover,
The Jewish feast of unleavened bread.
When the unblemished lambs had eaten,
Their blood marked doorposts and lintels red.
He had eagerly desired the meal
Which He and the Apostles would eat.
He took some water and a towel
And washed the Apostles’ feet.
At supper he blessed the bread and broke it
And then handed it to His brothers,
Saying, “This is My Body. Take and eat of it.
It will be given up for you and all others.”
At supper’s end, he blessed the wine and said,
“This is My Blood. Drink of it, all of you.
It will be shed for the forgiveness of sin
And seal the eternal covenant that’s new.”
After they had sung the hymn,
They went to the garden and He prayed.
A crowd came there to arrest Him.
By Judas He had been betrayed.
He was bound and taken to the Temple,
And there He was quickly tried.
The Pharisees pronounced His guilt
And demanded that He be crucified.
The soldiers scourged Him so severely
But stopped before He was dead.
They spat on Him and struck Him
And put a crown of thorns upon His head.
They placed a cross upon His shoulder,
The one on which He would die.
As he trudged to the hill, he was taunted,
As He dragged the cross on by.
They stripped Him of His garments
And nailed Him to the tree,
Raised Him up between two thieves,
So all the crowd could see.
He called out to His Father
Then exhaled His final breath.
The Son of God in human form
Had met his earthly death.
A soldier’s spear pierced His side
A>nd blood and water spilled,
But not one bone was broken,
And that scripture was fulfilled.
They placed Him in a brand-new tomb
Where no one had been placed before.
They wrapped Him in a burial shroud
And placed a stone against the door.
Mary Magdalene went to the tomb
Very early on the third day.
The risen Christ appeared and spoke to her,
“Go to My Brothers and say,”
“Go to Galilee where often we met,
And there I will come to you.
And you will receive much knowledge
Of the things you are to do.”
“Then I will ascend into Heaven,
And I will send the Advocate to you,
And with flame like tongues of fire
He will be baptized anew.”
“Then I will sit at My Father’s right hand,
And that is where I will stay,
Until I return to earth again
On the great judgement day.”
The Love of Jesus
by Mugode Thomas
(Lusaka Zambia)
Jesus loved me when I was still a stranger.
He came to save me because He knew my life was in danger.
He was a king even though He was born in manger.
Being in a relationship with Him is such a pleasure.
For He is worthy more than any treasure.
His love is so big, it's beyond measure.
With Him on my side every time is like leisure.
He took me out of the chains of shame,
When my spiritual life was broken and lame;
Now it is strong and untouchable like a blue flame.
Being with you is my strongest desire,
Because you are more than just a Messiah.
You walk with me, even through fire.
Thank you Lord, for taking me higher and higher.
Friendship with Jesus
by Kumalawaty Sundari
(Jakarta, Indonesia)
Friendship with Jesus enlivens my spirit;
O how sweet being in His presence!
All my sadness sinks in God’s grace,
Colorful is my life since my soul He touched;
Along my way, my Savior does keep me.
Friendship with Jesus revives my weary soul;
Through prayers I realize that He is good;
Yes, His Word feeds my barren heart!
Today and forever Jesus is the same,
In His everlasting arms I can hide.
Friendship with Jesus creates joy every day!
Heavenly peace rings wherever I am;
His faithfulness is greater than worldly cares;
My helper is Jesus in life’s turmoil!
Satisfied I am as the child of the King.
THE LORD IS YOUR FRIEND
by David Heischman
(Orlando, Florida USA)
Here's a Christian message that is widely applicable.
True friends will say what is on their mind,
And state the issues that might sound unkind.
But a friend is one that will speak the truth,
This was given by God; instilled from their youth.
Your life will have issues that happen each day,
But The Lord will show mercy as you’re humbled to pray.
Answers are given when you listen and heed,
And God will touch you and meet your need.
A Still Small Voice is what you must hear,
When you tend to listen and open your ear.
For surely God’s ways are past finding out,
And He will act surely as you give forth a shout.
Of praise and worship; you will live to see,
The Father’s touch while he sets you free.
Give honor And glory for He holds your hand,
And will show you the way to his promised land.
A place filled with peace, that no man can take,
He will show you his will, so make no mistake.
He will touch broken spirits now in this life,
And heal your hurting from a world of strife.
I know God loves me
by Benjamin Griffin
(Garden Grove, Can, USA)
A Christian message based on the Bible.
PSALM 233
A prayer, with love. Praise the Lord God of hosts.
1 O God of all the earth, of all above and all below,
in You we have our being, Your love through all does flow.
2 Your love is in the sunshine’s glow,
in the falling of the rain and snow.
3 When lightnings flash, and winds do blow,
O divine Father, I know You love me so.
4 Your grandeur I behold, in earth and sky and deep.
O how I love You, heavenly Father, how I love You so.
Jesus - A Life's Love
by David
(United KIngdom)
As waves crash into foam upon earth's shores,
And all their driving force dissolves in peace,
So do my self-driv'n prides meet Your Resource,
Which bids their angry heaving surges cease;
And broken to a humbler, kinder form,
Seeking to wash more gently, tired feet,
So does my life regain its long-lost norm,
With cooling balm Your patient shores to greet.
Then Your true love receives me, drinks me in;
All of my life is peaceful, loving flow,
And to the deepest Ocean I am kin,
Whence I once came, whither I soon shall go;
But had I ne'er found peace upon Your Shore,
Had roamed my angry billows evermore.
Near to Me
by Anonymous
How near you are to me, Oh Lord,
In everything I do.
You watch with loving, caring eyes,
My King so pure and true.
What is life without You Lord?
Unimaginable dispair,
A song without a tune,
A breath without the air.
To say that I deserve you Lord
Is nothing but a lie,
For I a wretched sinner
Nailed you to the cross to die.
But You, oh King, in your goodness
Looked on me with love,
Conquered death and darkness,
And prepared a place for me above.
More than a Carpenter
by Paras Bovolos
(Australia)
You were a Carpenter by trade,
But you had a special vision:
To reconcile us back to God
Through your kind and loving mission.
You’d work and chisel to perfection
Every creation that you made;
The finished product would be seamless,
As your humble touch would be displayed.
You removed all the splinters
From the heart of every piece,
And you carved it with your seal
And your polish before release.
From the finished piece of wood
Which you crafted to perfection...
To that splintered wretched cross,
As you suffered much rejection.
But as you hung whilst being in torment,
And you faced such agony,
Your focus was set above
As our eternity you could see.
T’was God’s mercy upon mankind
When the cross was nailed to you,
When sinners crucified your body
As to criminals they’d do.
From one wood to the other,
Your timeless grace did so reveal
That the latter was more special,
So no more can Satan steal.
“Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary…” Mark 6:3
“The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified, and the third day rise again. Luke 24:7
“And He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves but for Him who died for them and rose again.” 2 Corinthians 5:15
Fabric
by Daria Kluender
(Long Island, New York)
This metaphoric Christian message is about our lives and how Jesus makes them beautiful, even if they are broken.
I had such a beautiful piece of fabric. It was so soft, so intricate, so sweet and fragile. My fabric was to be used to make the most wonderful cherished things for my home. It was soft and lovely. I used to hold it against my cheek and thank God for it. It flowed and danced when I spun around with it, enjoying its beauty. Its colors were rich.
One day, Satan came, and seeing how I thanked God for my lovely fabric and how much I loved it, he came and snatched it from my hands. While I screamed, he ripped it to pieces in front of me. In one blow he tore it apart. Sneering, as he relished his catastrophe. My fabric lay twisted and shredded in rags on the floor.
As I fell to my knees, “Jesus, no. Please, no. Not this piece. Any other, but please, not this one.”
Jesus came. He knelt on the ground with me, my chaos around me.
Piece by piece he ever so gently picked up those shreds. He held up each piece to the light. He studied it with His loving gaze. This will go this way and that will go that way.
With needle and holy thread, He began to place the pieces of my beautiful fabric together. A straight stitch here, a basting stich there. Here a small mend, there a larger one. Here a square piece, there a round one. Here a jagged edge smoothed, there a tear put together.
Stich upon stich, layer upon layer, he began to pick up each torn piece and place it lovingly back together. Smiling as He went. “Daria, don’t cry. I am making something useful and lovely. Just wait and see.”
And so, the mending and sewing went on and on. The gazing, the studying, the placing, the stitching…the smiling. I watched as He worked, so patiently and quietly. He dried my tears as He went.
The holy thread He used, so scarlet and deep. Could it truly be? It was dyed red from His own blood shed for me.
One day Jesus stood up. In His hands my fabric. Once whole and unused, now became the most beautiful patched quilt I had ever seen.
“Daria, you see, in my hands your fabric lives. Now it is something useful and warm, beautiful and purposeful.”
As I looked, streams and streams of crimson red thread held together the mismatched, yet somehow perfectly placed pieces. Once tattered, now whole; once lost now found.
A patchwork quilt held strong by His shed blood. This now… is my life in Him.
Aging Gracefully
by Joseph L. Campanello
(Mansfield MA., U.S.A.)
Aging gracefully by doing God's will...a good Christian Message.
To age gracefully
We must age gratefully:
The malcontented become bitter,
Angry, and old before their time.
Gratitude is an attitude we can instill,
Without the aid of science or the
Blessings of its various high priests,
Without the need for potions and pills
Or self-help books without cease.
To age with serenity
We must seek sanity:
You will not find it in the news;
The t.v. psychologist can’t help you,
And you can get advanced degrees
And fancy titles by the dozen,
But they cannot confer peace of mind
On you, just collect their tuition and fees:
A quiet soul is for you to find.
To age with quality
We must disregard quantity:
All of those shiny toys and gadgets
Too soon become burdensome clutter,
Consigned to basements and attics,
Sometimes before the bill is paid, there
To collect dust: we drag them like chains
As they add to our inner noise and static,
Giving us disappointment and debt for our pains.
To age with dignity
We must search diligently
For God and His will for our lives:
Only the Being Who created and sustained us
Can know us perfectly and be certain
How we can bring our lives to fruition,
How we can walk in joy and beauty
And integrity until the final curtain,
Content that we have done our duty.
To age with integrity
We must age intrepidly:
To somehow find the strength and courage
To be ourselves in a coercive society that
Strives to manipulate and control us,
To turn us into mindless consumers
Who define themselves through what they buy;
We know it was never meant to be thus,
That we need to be more before we die.
To age contentedly
We must age unselfishly:
We cannot be happy living only for ourselves,
We were put here to help and to serve,
Our hearts tell us this is true and right,
Though cynical voices scoff, and deny it;
We know that love is the greatest glory,
That in giving we find purest delight,
That kindness tells the sweetest life story.
As I kneel Before Thee
by Alistair McAlistair
(Glasgow)
Take up thy shield, brandish thy sword.
that Our Souls may be penetrated by the Lord.
Like an empty vessel or a wizard's sleeve
May Our Souls be wide open, ready to receive.
For God's love is great and more than enough
To Fill Our Souls, with his Holy Stuff
Vanquish the Itch, humanity faces
May Our Souls be cleansed on a regular basis!
Vigorously, I thumb my favourite passage and moan
"Tis the folly of Our Souls' to soil thy throne".
Our Souls he loves. Our Souls he craves.
Come in Our Souls, Christ who saves.
Our Souls are exposed, naked and bare.
Held by God's hands, such sweet loving Care!
I kneel before thee Lord, and accept thy salvation.
For Our Souls are humbled in Prostrate Examination.
